Abstract

This study aims to introduce the concept of the rain formation process to early childhood through simple STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics)-based experiments. The experiments were conducted using safe and easily found materials, such as water and ice cubes, to demonstrate the stages of evaporation, condensation, and precipitation. The approach used was experiential learning (learning by doing), in which children were directly involved in the process of observation and exploration. The results of the study show that children become more enthusiastic, are able to explain the stages of the rain process in their own words, and relate the phenomenon to their daily lives. The application of STEAM in this activity has also been proven to support the development of curiosity, basic scientific thinking skills, creativity, and environmental awareness. Thus, STEAM-based rain experiments are effective as a medium for science learning for early childhood.
